Finally we are back to travel, and so we resume writing something in our blog! We are returning, in this month of August 2022, from a beautiful tour in Central Europe, which has seen us visit places in Switzerland, Germany and France. The trip was organized by "our" tour operator Movimondo (a special thanks to the excellent Tania, Mauro and Emanuele) and by the Strabordo Association and took place by bus between 11 and 18 August, touching the Schaffhausen Falls, Freiburg, Heidelberg, Strasbourg, Colmar, Basel and Lucerne. We will tell you in detail these magnificent locations in the next posts; for today we start with what was the first stop, the Waterfalls on the Rhine (Rheinfall) of Schaffhausen. We are talking about the largest waterfall in Europe, with a jump of 23 meters from a basin 150 meters wide; at the center of the falls stands a majestic rock that can be reached by boat, which can also be used by wheelchair users. Let's take a look at the pictures:
the boat for us:
and off to the waterfall!
and the train passes by on the falls!
What can be added? The site is very beautiful and certainly well accessible for us, with reserved parking spaces, equipped bathrooms and the lakefront mostly accessible by wheelchair, as well as being able to participate in the exciting boat trip. It can be an attractive idea for a weekend, especially for those who live in Lombardy.
