Second stop on our tour of Turin! This time we headed to one of the city's most famous and visited tourist attractions. We're talking about the Egyptian Museum (*), the oldest museum in the world dedicated entirely to Egyptian culture. Its history is described in detail on the website, which can be accessed via the link above.

The museum is housed in the Palazzo dell'Accademia delle Scienze, on the pedestrianized and pleasant Via Lagrange, and is fully wheelchair accessible. After calling the dedicated office in advance, we were able to enter, bypassing the long line that always characterizes the Egyptian Museum, especially on Sundays. There's also a well-stocked bookshop where we found a beautiful photography volume published in 2024 to celebrate the museum's 200th anniversary.

The visit is quite demanding, given the sheer quantity of artifacts on display and their fascination, which encourages you to pause before each statue and display case to admire their forms and details and read the rich and comprehensive captions. Below are some images of the pieces that struck us the most:

After leaving the Egyptian Museum following this pleasant immersion in the world of the pharaohs, we treated ourselves to a refreshing break in Piazza San Carlo, a truly elegant lounge:

Returning to Via Roma, you pass through Piazza CLN, where we find the two fountains created in 1936 by the sculptor Umberto Baglioni and representing the Po and Dora rivers:
