Well yes: two years have passed since 11 July 2017, when we embarked on this adventure and, after having received more than 3000 views, from 30 countries around the world, of the over 70 posts produced, we can try to take stock of the activity. . Feedback: lots of appreciation from you, both from individual users and from associations, blogs and newspapers, which have dedicated several reports to us; even an article-interview that was made to us by Superabile, the monthly magazine of INAIL. Not to mention the great satisfaction of being invited to the conference on accessible tourism organized by the Campus Foundation of prof. Corrado Del Bò in Lucca in May 2019, as part of the Volunteer Festival, where we talked about our experience with the blog. Another fundamental experience was collaborating with the tour operator Cosy for You in the preparation and execution of the "ConosciAmo Napoli and Campania" tour which was held in September 2018 and which we reported in a dedicated post. What did we miss? Perhaps we would have liked more participation from our readers in terms of specific comments but also requests to deal with situations where accessibility is denied. Or it would have been nice to receive some contributions from you with text and photos that we would have published in the blog with the author's signature, as we have done with several letters we have received. But you are always in time to start providing us with contributions and suggestions! Among other things, we have expanded our range of action from Campania to the world, by publishing posts on our travels in Italy and abroad, and this can facilitate your active participation in the blog. The most negative thing that makes us indignant, as ordinary citizens as we are, is not being able to receive adequate answers from the administrations of the various structures to which we send reports about architectural barriers, non-existent or broken lifts and elevators, toilets in unworthy conditions of a civil country civil. There are three types of answers given to us:
the non-answer: simply ignoring the request costs nothing and no one responds to this lack of simple good civility;
the answer with postponement: we will take care of it, don't worry, as soon as the money arrives, the work will be done;
the pietistic answer: we are so sorry for the discomfort she suffered, unfortunately ... and here a series of pseudo-explanations on why nothing can be done.
So if we look at the answers we gave ourselves two years ago on why it was right to make another blog on accessible tourism, and which we report below in red, we see that they are still valid and make us confirm the desire to continue with COMMA 2:
Because the information about accessibility and services for the disabled, which we find in the guides, is incomplete or incorrect or completely missing. Because we are in love with our region, Campania, and we want to share the experiences we have accumulated over many years with as many people as possible. Because we think it is right that accessible tourism develops more and more as an extension of the right to mobility and not as a kind concession of some more or less competent authority. Therefore we will provide, in our posts, information, always based on our experiences in the field, about: - the proposed location,
- accessible sites (historic centers, monuments, museums, walks)
- restaurants, agritourisms and anything else that allows tourists in chairs to refresh themselves and to make use of toilets equipped for the disabled. At the end of these brief notes, we therefore hope to encourage people with motion disabilities to move with greater safety; we are obviously ready to receive corrections, corrections, opinions and suggestions, in short, everything that makes a blog alive. Have a good trip! And since we are in the bathing season, we like to close with a photo taken in 2012, during a meeting of Strabordo, on the Rotonda sul Mare in Senigallia, a suggestive and fully accessible place!
